Overview
This guide helps you set up Braiins Hashpower and connect it to HashWatcher so you can buy SHA-256 hashrate without owning extra ASICs.
Vocabulary
- Pool mining — miners combine power and share rewards proportionally (steadier, smaller payouts).
- Solo mining — you keep the full block if you find one; high variance. Many “solo pools” still use a pool URL.
- Pool URL — Stratum address where rented hashrate is sent (e.g.
stratum+tcp://stratum.braiins.com:3333).
- Worker identity — usually
username.worker_name. For solo, username is often your BTC address.
- Extranonce2 size — pools need
extranonce2_size >= 7 for Hashpower routing. Most BTC pools qualify; many non-BTC SHA-256 pools do not.
- Hashrate — TH/s, PH/s, EH/s of compute you rent.
- Share — proof of work the pool uses to measure your contribution.
Prerequisites
- Telegram — account verification and bid confirmations
- Email — account verification
- Bitcoin — BTC to deposit for purchasing hashrate
- HashWatcher — latest iOS or Android app to paste your API key and use Hashpower in-app
1. Open Hashpower
- Open Hashpower.
- The Market View shows the live order book and price charts.
- You can explore market data without logging in.
2. Create your account
- Click Sign Up.
- Complete Telegram verification.
- Verify your email.
- You will receive two API tokens: Owner (full access) and Read-only (view only).
Save your API tokens securely — they cannot be shown again after creation. You need the Owner token for HashWatcher.
3. Return to HashWatcher and enter your key
- Open the HashWatcher app.
- Go to the Hashpower section / tab.
- Paste your Owner API token and save.
- HashWatcher will refresh with your Hashpower account so you can watch the market and manage orders from the app.
You can still use Hashpower in a browser anytime — HashWatcher is your mobile control surface once the key is saved.
4. Deposit Bitcoin
Your BTC deposit address is shown on your Hashpower account page.
- Open your Hashpower account and copy your assigned BTC deposit address.
- Send BTC from your own wallet (not an exchange/custodial service when possible).
- Deposit more than the minimum bid amount so a canceled bid doesn’t leave an unspendable dust balance.
- Wait for 3 confirmations before funds are credited.
- Incoming deposits may be screened for compliance; flagged funds can take up to ~48 hours on working days for manual review.
Important: Only deposit coins with a clear origin. Suspicious funds may need extra verification or, rarely, be returned to the sender.
5. Place your first bid
You can create spot bids in Hashpower or from HashWatcher once your key is connected:
- Open Orders → Create (or the equivalent in HashWatcher).
- Set price (BTC/EH/day), budget (BTC), and optional speed limit (PH/s).
- Enter a mining pool URL and worker identity.
- Confirm via Telegram when prompted.
- Monitor the bid under Orders — and check status back in HashWatcher.
6. Get a contract running (optional)
- In Contracts, click New contract.
- Set speed (PH/s) and duration; enter pool URL + worker identity.
- Review hashrate cost + fee, then confirm — funds are reserved from your balance.
- Track delivery in Contracts; keep enough balance for the full duration.
Contracts are a commitment. Canceling early charges a fee on the undelivered portion — read Braiins’ contract docs before you lock funds.
7. Try demo mode (optional)
- Use
demo as the API token in Hashpower (or HashWatcher) to explore with simulated data.
- When you’re done testing, replace it with your real Owner token in HashWatcher.
